Summary of Master in Chess
From the Danish Grand Master Jacob Agarrad, it was a resounding success for a prolific author of Chess books - he was proclaimed Best Book of the year in 2002 by the prestigious ChessCafe; and his next work, ‘Excelling at Positional Chess’ was also acclaimed by international critics. For the Spanish edition, the author has selected the most outstanding chapters of these two brilliant works, creating a very special book. This edition will be translated into at least four languages. In this work Aagaard shows great pedagogical virtues, giving infinite practical and theoretical advice for players of all levels. The author, who has been a coach for many years, and who brings many ideas of his own, takes as reference several key works in the modern Bibliography, such as - 'The Seven Deadly Sins' of Rowson, 'Tournament Player Technique', of Dvoretsky, 'The Method in Chess', by Dorfman and' Secrets of Modern Strategy. Advances from Nimzowitsch ’by John Watson. The author's arguments are well elaborated, are enjoyable and, in many moments, are great. His exhibitions are supported by multiple teaching examples, finishing the book with a good series of positional exercises, where the solutions are explained very clearly. In general, Aagaard's goal in this book is to offer practical resources to the tournament player and teach him to think about the board.
